Who is Sio?

Who is Sio?
A journalist/photographer, radio DJ, vegetarian and college student with an insatiable passion for life and all its offerings. I believe any interesting activities or knowledge I obtain should be shared with you!

Oh yeah, and there's Mr. Bojangles...

Bo is my faithful kitten and camera whore. We found him in a cinder block on a farm when he was about two months old. He enjoys lap-napping, eating mice and long walks across the lawn. Don't be surprised if you spot him throughout my blog.

What's your real name?

My name is Siobhan - pronounced Shah-vahn - (It's Gaelic for Joan). I'd like to personally thank my parents for giving me a name that will forever be mispronounced by teachers, professors, receptionists, Panera Bread employees and the like.

What's your blog about?
I write about music, baking, staying healthy and the beautiful things that happen to me. I will do my best to include the books I read, the music I play, the exercises I do, the recipes I use and anything else I can find up my sleeve.

Why do you make dishes with meat if you're vegetarian?
When I'm at home I usually cook for my family. None of them are veggies, so I've got to compromise. Usually I'll make my dish with tofu or beans.. it takes more time, but if you're really dedicated on being vegetarian, that's what you've got to do.

Do you have any goals?
Yes, and one of them is, of course, weight loss. When I was on the swim team in high school I was 5'3" at a healthy weight of 120, swimming on average four miles a day. Six years, one inch taller and one college diet later and-- well let's just say I'm not as athletic as I used to be. My goal is to eat right and exercise five out of seven days of the week for the rest of the summer, and I'll be sharing my workouts and diet with you so you can keep up!

Who is Broski?
That's my freakishly athletic younger brother, Christian. Sometimes, for fun, we convince people we're twins.

What music do you listen to?
Shall we take a scroll down my iTunes favorites? Andrew Bird, Arcade Fire, Beck, The Black Keys, Coldplay, Dave Matthews, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Fleet Foxes, The Helio Sequence, Incubus, Jamie Cullum, Janelle Monae, John Mayer, The Killers, Maroon 5, Peter Bjorn and John, Radiohead, Sara Bareilles, The Shins and Vampire Weekend.
